It appears Al Smith made a huge mistake of willing his railroad to the wrong organization. The California State University "culture" and administrative bureaucracy is comprised of thousands of people just like the woman profiled in this twitter video below:

As Heather MacDonald exposes in the YouTube video below, the CSU administrative bureaucracy would rather use taxpayer dollars to create a few more vice chancellorship positions dealing with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and paying a quarter of a million dollars per year as a salary, than they would in rebuilding and operating a miniature railroad. Maybe if the steam engines were painted in rainbow colors CSU might reconsider.
