You know something, Tom--- Glen Icanberry sounds pretty darn enthused about the new Harre Demoro SN book, even though it is 100% “Traction” related material. I bet I know why too !! “Traction” is in Glen’s family genes dating way back in time…
His paternal Uncle was the legendary “Paul Icanberry” of Alameda, CA… One of the greatest O-scale trolley builders in the entire country… Paul was the “Trainmaster” for many years at the old Eastbay Model Engineers Society club in Emeryville, CA on Halleck Street…
His famous TROLLEY layout in Alameda was the United Railroads// Eastshore Lines. He had some 400 O-scale trolleys, freight motors, Interurbans—all patterned after SP-IER, SN and Key System…
The layout in Paul’s basement was HUGE..
Anyway, just wanted to share info on one of Glen’s “traction” relatives.. I didn’t know the book of Harre’s was available already.. Has been very low key publicity about it.. Looks like price is $ 70.00 !
Harre Demoro was a prolific writer and photographer—he also had his Father’s extensive photo collection at his disposal too. (Ralph Demoro)…
Cheers to all.
