Civil engineering, I found an article in "
Professional Surveyor" magazine regarding the Frazier landslide in southern Oregon in late January 2008. It details some of what the surveyors had to deal with in their 5 weeks on the job. They heavily employed GPS and GNSS on this job. To a lesser degree, it speaks about the railroads efforts to help itself by bringing in rock ballast and hauling out the mud. The article includes 6 photos including the cover photo and runs from page 10 to page 12. The above link is for the March 2009 electronic edition.
