I do agree this is a strange angle of a shot of LAUPT (which doesn't show the curvature beyond this point).

The cantilever signal in the background is the interlocking signal controlling the "old" mainline coming from the Links/Bullring, onthe north leg of the wye at Naud Junction, to cross the ATSF 2nd District and LA River, at Mission tower. In the background is the former shoe parts company.
