I did this trip FORTY FIVE YEARS AGO with some longtime friends and here's a group photo of us. Left to right: Earl Bleecker, Terry Salmans, D.B. Arthur, Mel Miller and Alan Newton. Earl went on to work as a sales rep for a furniture manufacturer and distributor; Terry and Mel went on to both become "motor coach operators" for the Orange County Transit District and Alan went on to become a locomotive engineer for Union Pacific and a union rep for the BLE. I believe all of us are retired now. Terry and Mel are active at the Southern California Railway Museum (formerly the Orange Empire Railway / Trolley Museum). I believe Earl is still living in Southern California and, last I heard, Alan was living in Arizona.
