This Alco PA was originally a Santa Fe locomotive. Thus going to its natural habitat would have meant it returning to somewhere along the former Santa Fe railroad.
However, as the PA is currenly wearing a Nickel Plate scheme, one could also argue that it should go to somewhere along (or at least near) the former Nickel Plate like Bellevue, OH or Fort Wayne, IN where it could keep the 765 Berkshire locomotive company.
The only place in Pennsylvania where the Nickel Plate PAs ran was in a small corner in Northwestern, PA where Erie is located. They never ran to Scranton. (No, the Erie Railroad never came to Erie, PA).
That said, as a Pennsylvanian, I was happy to learn of the Alco PA coming to the Commonwealth of PA.
