El Paso–Texarkana
Westerner loads at El Paso, circa 1953. (Linn H. Westcott)
Why weren't there more slides of trains made in this interesting era? Cost of film? I wonder if T&P was part of the MoPac family of companies?

Trains: "In 2001, there were still the remains of a segregated colored waiting room, a much smaller room than the white waiting room. There was still a now defunct drinking fountain with a sign reading,
for coloreds only."
I wonder if that Jim Crow era artifact was preserved? I imagine some station manager saw it and panicked and had it painted over. It's important to keep these artifacts around, even if they are highly offensive. Honestly, I never thought of El Paso, TX, as part of the Jim Crow South. It is part of the Southwest to me. Learned a bit of new info.
