Back in March of 2011 the California coast experienced historic storms that flooded the city of Capitola twice and washed out the rail line in Aptos. This video I created covers the final rail delivery to the Santa Cruz area before the rail line washed out the next day. The Sierra Northern locomotive and UP centerbeam cars would be stranded in Capitola for the next two months until the washout in Aptos was repaired.
