There have been no repairs made. The line remains OOS.

The grapevine says there are talks of abandoning the line past Wauna, but that has not been substantiated with any solid sources so I wouldn't put much stock in it. In my observation it takes a lot for a G&W road to formally abandon a property. Rights-of-way have value, even if they are never used for rail again, and GWI likes to have assets to use as leverage, both fiscal and political.

Will trains run to the port again? Unknown. The Port of Astoria was talking publicly about securing the Tongue Point facility but I have heard no more news about it recently.
