There are still quite a few. I went down to SLO a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised to see at least a half dozen left. The last time I was in the area, the signal department seemed to be on a mission to replace them all ASAP. I guess that UP has higher priority projects elsewhere in the economic downturn. Once the economy turns around, they will likely come back and finish the job, so see them while you can.
