Before Katrina, the Sunset was not only chronically and extremely tardy, but half the time it never even made it before being turned back - the few passengers still onboard were bussed on to their destination. Now who in the h--- is going to pay for a train ride only to get stuck on a bus. Most people would just drive, some would fly, and some just wouldn't go at all, rather than ride a bus any great distance. So no one would be riding anyway - and weren't! Amtrak needs the cars elsewhere.

Now do you suppose that the UP is trying the same tactic that was so successful for the Chessee (CSX)?!

Do bears .....
