These gassy turkey's didn't get too much use on the LA Division, that I knew of, just kind of showed up en-masse at the deadlines for scrap about the time these pictures were taken. I think some of these may have had a short run at West Colton on "pull downs" (good brakes/lousy traction?). These had poor ride characteristics (I believe the speed restriction may have come from the trucks "hunting" and poor stability???) and were generally detested everywhere they went.
