I read the article about Amtrak wanting to test GE P32/P40/P42 locomotives for use on its Cascades trains very interesting. Apparently the author doesn't realize that Amtrak has already done so, substituting P32s and P42s for the normal F59PHIs, and with no discernible loss of time for the run.
