These two links will show you the original MILW stub-ended station in Butte, now repurposed into a local TV station, and the smaller replacement station built south of there that eliminated the back-up moves required for the stub-ended station. The small station has been repurposed for use by the fire department.
MILW made the switch between the big station and the small station around 1957 or so (I think).
In the photo of the small station, the trees in the background and the land they occupy have since been cleared clean, probably for a new housing development.
