Paul, no the softball shot and a zillion others like it have never been published, never even been enlarged onto 8x10 glossy. A few did get printed for an exhibit when the Wallace Depot RR Museum first opened 20 years ago. They now hang on a couple of walls in my house. Includes a couple shots of street running down Mullan Ave. on CdA's east side. Wet darkroom days are long behind me; time to tool up for a digital darkroom. Allblack, I think there was a photo of the McCall over/under in one of the SP&S books that came out in the late 80s/early 90s. Don't have them here at work, so I'll try to remember to check when I get home. CdA is indeed missing the boat on future light rail options. It might not really need light rail for another decade, but the time to secure an efficient right of way is NOW. The fact that they're building a new bridge where Seltice Way crosses the UP right of way instead of simply lowering the road or building a bike trail tunnel makes me think someone might be looking ahead to the day when that UP right of way would make the ideal light rail route in and out of CdA. Naahh, they couldn't be THAT smart. SP&S trail is paved from Fish Lake to South Cheney, and the former UP/MILW is paved from about Scribner north (RR east) a couple miles beyond Marshall. There's talk of paving or at least smoothing more of the SP&S west of South Cheney, but for now it's a pretty rough, rocky surface best suited for walking or horseback. The MILW is pretty much a dirt road in most of eastern WA. I use it quite a bit when shooting UP action around Marengo.
