Hey Paul, speaking of Ranchester, does Mr. Petty still live there? Anyway, that ball park in CdA is still there, but they pulled out just enough BN track a few years ago and the local tends to be short enough by the time it reaches CdA that the power rarely poses beside first base like it used to. I suppose we could start a whole new thread on the ball parks and other such sites that are alongside RRs. Locally, I can think of the Spokane Indians field right next to UP's Spokane Yard; been there for a few games and watched MSKHK roll out of town. Or the State Line Speedway at the WA/ID border, where you can watch small-time motor sports with UP and BNSF visible on either side. Never been to the annual combine demolition derby in Lind, WA, but the fairgrounds should put it in clear view of the BNSF main. BTW, I looked for that SP&S/MILW over/under in my SP&S books by Austin/Dill and Grande, but found no such photo. Just the reference to the former location of Waukee. Maybe I saw it once in Wood's SP&S book (which I don't own) or somewhere else. Or maybe I'm imagining the whole thing.
