Most "environmentalists" are NIMBYs and rabble-rousers who have little or no scientific knowledge or training or are scientists who are using their knowledge and skills to further their own political or personal agendas. What they really want is to get rid of the existing fossil-fuel based energy system and the corporations that dominate it; "man-made" global warming is just a convienient excuse to achieve this goal and one that seems to resonate more in the minds of many people than more legitimate reasons.
