It's a nice operation with a lovingly cared for 30 inch gauge 2-8-0. The engine is in very nice shape, and looks great.

You mentioned reading their ads, but I'm not sure if that includes visiting this website: [aldergulch.com]

The photos and info presented there will give you a real good feel for the operation.

The only negative I can see is that the track is only about 1-1/2 miles long, it sure would be nice if it was a longer ride. On the other hand, that gives you a great chance to both ride the train and chase a trip or two for photos in a reasonable time.
