The "Market Street Railway" was merged with the SF-MUNI Ry in 1944.. However, various sites on google indicate that the extra two tracks made it into 1950, at least. There is even a photo of a streetcar on the 4-tracks in 1949... Not to contradict my good friend 'Drew", but I'll say 1950, maybe even '51... I'm really surprised that Cam Beach on here didn't provide the answer. He is Mr. Muni history.... If you check a copy of the "White Front Cars of San Francisco" or the "Peoples Railway", you can probably find the answer..
