I can't see much value to this questionnaire since SMART made up its mind years ago that it wanted doodlebugs and obviously simply planned to impose this scheme on a compliant NCRA-NWP. Who knows but what the local political machine may have enough juice in DC to secure an FRA dispensation for SMART to do pretty much whatever it wants?

Maybe it is time to get rid of the term "light rail". It has been so twisted as to include people movers and doodlebugs. Pretty soon they will be calling BART light rail.

I don't put much trust in any story that comes out of the Press Democrat or its sister paper the Argus Courier. They never met a freeway or development project they didn't like except for the Rohnert Park casino. They have shown how you can be a corporate stooge and an elitist NIMBY at the same time. Maybe if the casino were owned by one of their Ritchie Rich cronies instead of American Indians it would be hotsy-totsy in their eyes. like SMART.

SMART is going to be plagued by high costs and low ridership. Bring it on - let's get it over with.
