Hey, that's fine, Rich. It's just a minor point that I like to iron out. A lot of the people I work with get that confused, as it sounds the same. It becomes more important when people discuss the work to be done, and if Yard Limits starts to get mixed in with Switching Limits, sometimes good arbitrary claims can get denied by incorrect wording, and timetable and milepost locations don't jive with actual territory, so that leads to more declines, as well as general confusion in the job briefing. That really hasn't been an issue in awhile, though. Most every claim gets declined these days. But more important, the main track authority issue must be clear. The last place that had Yard Limits on the main track where I work was Pittsburg, Calif (TWC/ABS). But that authority was removed a few years ago from the timetable, supposedly because some of the roadswitchers would frequently show Amtrak color. And it's now CTC, so that's a moot point.
When I was back in Kansas in 2003 for hoghead school, I ventured over to the shops and got one or two black and white 35mm slides of it from over a chain link fence, if I remember right. I also got a few color slides of it at Barstow on my way out a little while back. I only assumed that was the same one, as it is certainly a rare model these days! Does anyone know what it is classified as?
