First let me say that I too miss the 3rd and Townsend depot. It was stupid that it was torn down for a freeway offramp that was never built. But I wouldn't say it's all crap now. It's a whole heck of a lot better than it was from 1975 to 2000 when that area was really all crappy. It's pretty impressive how the building of Pac Bell Park (aka SBC Park, aka AT&T Park) has upgraded that part of San Francisco.
