Actually, we'd get a better head of steam out of that thing in damp, cooler weather, which would be a bit of a plus. She really looked nice climbing Evaro Hill that foggy morning on the return leg of her Montana trip. Outside of that, especially in hot/dry summer weather, 4449 has been notoriously lacking for smoke or steam overhead in recent years, but it's been that clean stack policy that's helped keep her running reliably and efficiently. Shouldn't complain. Looking forward to better steam effects and better light in the cooler air this October.
