There will almost certainly be people hanging around Havana Street Friday night. Not sure what the special agent's orders will be in terms of keeping the area clear that night, but I've heard they're going to make the 4449 somewhat approachable for the public.

The west end of Ramsey siding, near the Ramsey Road crossing, still has a signal bridge but its heads have been removed because new single-mast signals have recently been installed. Pretty nice shot of eastbounds coming out of the woods approaching the siding, but for my money I'd head up to the east end of Ramsey siding. Just a short distance west of the east switch, there's a small hill along the south side of the track where you can get a bit of elevation. Should be well-lit when the 4449 comes flying through there at track speed, and with a normal lens to moderate tele, you get the southern tip of the Selkirks in the background.
