Regarding the Fruitvale Rail Bridge and the website provided by "Castlebridge" containing the topic "Ghosts of the ABL" (model railroading) ...
At NO time did Interurban Electric (SP) or Key System interurban trains use THIS particular bridge as indicated. THIS bridge was built in 1951. The Interurban Electric originally had TWO ways to get into Alameda-- the OLD Fruitvale bridge (swing-span) or one of the old Webster Street bridges (prior to the Posey Tube construction)..
Key System "streetcars" used the Park Street bridge to gain entrance to Alameda, but at NO time did Key System have a transbay interurban line into Alameda.
Any questions ?? Don't hesitate to ask.
Cheers.
