You need to go to Europe. The diesel power plant in vehicles there do not put out the amount of pollutants like here. Use an exiting design, but newer power plant. What are they using on the Oceanside to Escondido runs?

What I would like to see is all electric done on the cheap. Telephone wooden poles to hold up the wire, just like the old Milwaukee Railroad did for years. Just do not do 3000 v DC.
