Klamath Falls - UP & Amtrak Station Question

Yesterday afternoon I was watching the RFD-TV "Trains and Locomotives" program. I haven't watched that program in a while since it was getting to be constant reruns of eastern rail videos. This week's program was something new and interesting. It was 7 Idea Production's video on The Cascade Line (Vol. 2) and I found it to be a really interesting show.

My question is on the track in front of the Amtrak depot at Klamath Falls. Is the track closest to the depot the main line or is it the second track out from the station. I have seen a couple other videos taken at Klamath Falls and the trains are always using the track that is second out from the Amtrak depot. I am curious to what that first track is used for.
