Qwirks Re The Amtrak Stations

Just out of curiousity, I checked out the Amtrak website to see what it had to say about the station(s) in Elko. There are separate ones for the westbound and eastbound trains. Train 5 uses a platform at 1300 Water St. and Train 6 uses one at 1301 Sharps Access Road. The Amshacks are right across from each other on a two-track ROW, but you need separate access roads to reach them. Now, to make matters MORE confusing, GOOGLE sattelite and map images contend that **THE** one and only Amtrak station is several blocks away, in an area shorn of railroad tracks, near the corner of 13th. St. and River St. in a residential area.

When you click on the page that deals with the operating hours of the station(s), it says that they're open for one minute. From midnight to 12:01 AM.

Is it any wonder why people just give up and either fly or drive?
