This is the famous wooden Halfmoon Trestle on the Camas Praire Second
Subdivision out of Lewiston, ID. The second ran from Spalding up to
Grangeville, ID. The part that drew most attention was between Culdsac at
the bottom and Reubens at the top of a 3% grade that was fourteen miles in
length. No revenue trains have run this line since the last one down the
hill on November 29, 2000. But this monument still stands and is visited now
by motor car clubs and hikers.

Rayonier #8 was moved from Shelton, WA to Chehalis, WA in June 09 for storage. The 2-6-6-2T was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in November 1924 for the Bloedel-Donovan Lumber Mill Railroad. That railroad operated out of Bellingham, WA. The locomotive has 44" driving wheels and weighs a total of 213,000 pounds. Rayonier bought the locomotive in 1945 for work around Sekiu and kept it busy until 1964. The mallet was saved from scrapping when two individuals bought the locomotive and moved it to Shelton, WA. There is no plans at this time to restore the locomotive to operational condition. This photo was taken on 25 July 09 at the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad siding in Chehalis. The locomotive rests near Exit 77 of Interstate 5.
