The Kenosha cars are ex-Toronto Transit Commission PCCs, with CTA rapid transit trucks under them. In addition to the CSL/CTA scheme, cars are painted for TTC, Johnstown Traction, Pittsburgh Railways and Cincinnati. The SEPTA car is in the early stages of restoration.
The line started on June 17, 2000. The line was the brainchild of Kenosha Transit manager Joseph McCarthy, who passed away shortly after it opened. The shop and Transit Center are dedicated to him.
