I believe there's a run-through agreement between the two roads where UP units venture as far north as Calgary and CP units make their way down to Hinkle, OR. A few years ago, there was a fleet of units that were painted in some neutral paint scheme and had different reporting marks that were intended for this international run-through service. It's tricky having a unit that satifies everything the FRA wants and everything the Canadian equivalent to the FRA wants.
