I apologize to all for dwelling on this subject-- but after reading some of your responses, I suddenly thought of some "possibilities" about getting suitable material together to do a first rate, magazine quality photo story...
Besides the RR memoirs in writing that my Mom left me, I mentioned about having Irene's daily diary from 1933 when she wrote about their adventures in Arizona on the SP, in Navajo country..
There are "some" loose photos in an envelope. There are several more b&w photos in an old beatup photo album... There are several scenes on 8mm movie film that my Dad took with an old Keystone camera. And there are even more images on a poor quality VHS tape where I had attempted to self-transfer 8mm film to the tape myself, about 40-years ago.
I just spoke to my film lab in Seattle who does the editing for my RR videos I produce and they said (just a few moments ago) that they "might" be able to enhance and capture some of the images on the VHS tape and place them on a CD as a photo reference source.
So-- I'm suddenly getting excited about the possibilities here... Will keep you all advised !
Cheers.
