It looks to me that the judge in this case did not wnat to pick up the political hot potato that is the hsr.

It is unfotunate that the public was not allowed to vote on the Grapevine vs. Tehachapis routing. Eventually it will be recognized that the Grapevine alignment will have to be built anyway. It would be a tremendous bargain comparatively, like the BART bay tube, if it were built first instead of decades from now, before development drives up land values along I-5.
