Do you recall who that was you were hearing? The reason I'm asking is because 10 years ago (and many years before that), Santa Clara County ambulances (paramedics) were dispatched on the UHF band of 453.100--nowhere near the RR spectrum. There might have been some private companies on the VHF band, but my work radio was not programmed to receive those guys.
