For those of us who have lived through Sound Transit's life so far, the real issue is delivery of the product. The original light rail was approved November 1997, almost 10 years ago. If you read the original proposal, by now we would have had the light rail from downtown Seattle to SeaTac open for a few years. Also the Sounder would be running 18 round trips between Seattle and Tacoma by now. Instead, the opening of light rail is still 2 years away, they want more money for additional light rail before they can even get the first line opened, and the Sounder is running 4 rush hour only round trips out of Tacoma.
