NP Y-2 #1272 Tandem Compound

Freericks mentioned, "The crisp, clean, and gorgeous looks into the past are just outstanding."

They don't all start that way! Many of my dad's negatives have water spots, dust spots where it stuck during devopement or on the neg before exposure. Others have scratches or worse. I spend quite a bit of time in Photoshop, fixing these things. Stuff I sure wish I could have done in the darkroom. I am always careful not to destroy detail, or mess up the historic integrity of the images though.

I do some restoration work for museums and authors, hope no one minds a bit of a plug! Here's an image that I took from a cabinet photo with a lot of damage, as you can see. The result will print a really nice 20" wide photo!

This is one of NP's tandem compounds, slow, ponderous beasts, very front heavy. Good helpers, or for drag freight. This one is on a work train on the South Bend Branch near Pe Ell Washington, in 1908.
