At one time Buffett's friend Bill Gates (Microsoft) was a major investor in Canadian National. It will be interesting to see if Warren still holds his shares of UP and NS--we should know soon when his company releases it's quarterly report of it's holdings. Assuming Congress doesn't do something stupid about re-regulation, all the rails should do well as the economy recovers. I read a release from NS yesterday about the number of locomotives and cars they had removed from storage due to increasing demand. Let's cross our fingers and hope that this trend continues.
