A few of us said sometimes that when Margaret stopped showing up regularly, things must really have been getting bad. Like a weathervain. She told a friend once that two GGRM managers in particular had made it all too clear to her that her input and presence were simply not appreciated. She was shut out in the worst way.

As for Ron, well, the man was always a mystery to me. Never understood his motives exactly. He was one of the LEAST abrasive or aggressive people I ever met there but along the lines of what KRK said, I had a hard time trusting him anyway. He was not a "say what you mean and mean what you say" kind of guy, towards me at least. He acted so passive towards what was going on around him, like a kind of complicit silence.
On a completely different heading, a bunch of us were always curious about the actual timeline for pulling out of HP. Other base tenants got word of pending eviction notices months in advance of when the GGRM membership was officially told. In addition, all the base tenants that some of us talked to were handed a completely different set of timelines for eviction than the one the GGRM gave to its members and the general public. Some tenants were baffled by all the supposed "extensions" the Museum was applying for; their final termination date was months (up to a year!) after the one the Museum was using. Why is this? One thing that is obvious is that the Museum probably had at least twice the time to vacate HP than they allowed themselves; and they intitally dithered away months of the time they did have. The only conclusion that I can come to is that some people at the GGRM realized that maybe they could use little bit of chaos to their advantage. The farmer might not notice the wolves attacking his sheep if he's busy with the foxes in the henhouse.
