I have visited Fullerton and know for a fact that there is a nice walkway with stairs and elevators located at the Fullerton station, as well as a road croaaing with side walks on both sides of the Fullerton station that cross UNDER the tracks. Also is it not true that the first grade crossing this line is east of Fullerton near Anaheim. Bottom line 11 pm there is no reason for anyone to be out on a railroad walking no matter what, what ever happend to common sense? I for one find no fault with the RR, a fence can and would be cut by vandals thus defeating its purpose, someone suggested having a detection device near the ROW to warn the RR of possible tresspassers the ICE/Border patrol do not even do that to keep out illeagls so what makes you think the RR's should do that to just think of all the red signals dropping in front of trains because of a rabbit or racoon that got to close to the rails. I guess the RR's should only move trains at 5 mph in cities with a population over 5000 people or spend hundreds of millions of dollars to bury, trench, elevate or bypass major metropolitian areas but than what is the point of having cities of Long Beach, L.A., Seattle or Chicago if a RR had to spend all that money its a lot cheaper to abandon lines and say good by. Sorry for the family of the victims which includes the train crew who did everthing they could have to aviod this accident. Its not like the train crew was on their laptop computers and over flew the airport like the two Delta pilots did in Minneapolis last month or texting on their phones like another high profile California rail accident of recent times. Bottom line if you walk in front of my car against a red light and I could not stop in time and you get hit, tough yes I feel bad but its your fault and not mine just like its these two guys fault and not the RR's
