And for this to happen, you'd need exactly what MRL has: Guaranteed Traffic. Especially on the former WP. Not a lot of intermediate traffic between Winnemucca and the Sacramento Valley. And in the "lessons learned" department, UP would probably not be as foolish as was BN to limit flexibility on how to route their own traffic. Not a chance this would happen.
