Mike, the 539 is one of two surviving SP&S steam locomotives, the other being the well-known 700 which resides in the roundhouse in Portland & gets out on the rails from time to time.
539 was built for the Northern Pacific & then sold or transferred to the SP&S. She's a 2-8-2 type and a rather heavy example. I believe that she was active to around 1956 in the Pacific NW area. She was on display in a Vancouver park for years, then moved to Battle Ground, WA.
