Sunday afternoon I brought 60 loads of grain into Cheney WA on the Eastern Washington Gateway RR. This was a 4000 foot train of approximately 8000 tons. We had 3-SD45s for power, NIWX 375, NIWX 8925, NIWX 8924.
This 45 minute recording was made with a Sony ICD-SX57 digital recorder which was set on the step immediately behind the Engineers door on the 375. The recording starts as we begin our descent down into Deep Creek and we go into full dynamic braking. Here are some of the highlights of this recording:

08:10 We come out of dynamic braking and begin to power up all the way to run 8. Count the notches.

14:45 Under the BNSF bridge. about 4 miles of tangent track.

16:26 begin to throttle back as the bulk of the train is over the top of Deep Creek Hill

19:36 Brooks Rd, they got a couple of extra toots!
22:21 - Private crossing at the sewage plant. There is a trail that crosses the tracks here
23:01 - State Hwy 902 in Medical Lake
23:48 Stanley St in Medical Lake. We have a bit of a pull out of here and throttle up briefly for it.
25:31 - Keene Rd, east of Medical Lake. Downgrade.
26:26 into dynamic braking
28:39 another upgrade, going out of dynamics
29:49 throttling back up
30:02 Welcome Rd. throttling on up to run 8, about 1 mile of ascending grade

35:41 private crossing right at the I90 underpass. Horn echos when we go under I90
36:15 Medical Lake Four Lakes Rd. Into dynamic braking again
37:49 down to idle and run 1 for some drifting at slower speeds for a few miles
