Portland, OR, Holiday Express

Only two more weeks until the Portland Holiday Express operates. On Friday, December 4, Saturday, December 5, and Sunday, December 6, SP&S 700 is scheduled to pull the trains. Then on December 11,12 and 13, SP 4449 is scheduled for duty. Several trains will operate every day. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation website at

This is always a fun family event. The trains are decorated and lit, Santa is aboard, with his elf helpers. Each run lasts approximately 40 minutes, departing from Oaks Park and running to OMSI and return on the Oregon Pacific.
