Dear Nevada steam;First thing you need to know is that there are two(2)railroads involved here. The Virgina and Truckee RAILROAD and the Virgina and Truckee RAILWAY.Tom Gray is NOT on his high horse about getting the eighteen(18)up and running.The Grays are only waiting for the "word"to come from The Virgina and Truckee RAILWAY to get the eighteen(18)up and running.Knowing how the rumor mill works you may have been lead to believe all the loco needs(the 18)is water in the boiler and a fire in her to run.WRONG!The Sierra ran the wheels of her with no maintinance what so ever(I got that info from one of the firemen that worked on the eighteen(18)while she was on the Sierra).Zip,Nada,NONE.It was found in her inspection scored mainrod bearings and pins,Leed truck bearing running hot and several outher minor(they hope)problems with the engine along with a F.R.A.inspection that is REQUIRED.So now you know WHO to point a finger at PLEASE do so.Maybe,JUST maybe if you and outhers would email the Virgina and Truckee RAILWAY about the eighteen(18)she just might be up and running sooner rather than LATTER. 4 ever steam,sp steam
