""Curious if anyone has any further knowledge about the 2 blk st car line mentioned at the opening of this item...that existed on Marin Ave, Berkley but likely never saw service. For example were franchise runs required, if so how often ??.""
Answer: This line was an off-shoot of the # 7 Arlinton Line. It was started on March 23, 1912
down Marin Avenue from Monterey to Colusa Avenue at the Berkeley city limit. It is thought that the line was intended for a new line to new real estate developments in Albany, but was blocked by the SP California Street line on Colusa Avenue. The line never saw service and existed only as a spur.
Hope this helps, Sir..
Ken.
