Check 'Lines of Pacific Electric - Northern & Eastern Districts', which is Interurbans Special No. 61, ISBN 0-916374-21-1 copyright 1976 Interurbans Press, Glendale, Calif. This is a good source of information, complimented with hand-drawn maps by the late Ray Younghans (not to scale) and also reference Tractions of the Orange Empire, also by Interurbans.
Steele Photo Service, although scattered to the wind by his descendants via open auction, was an early avid local photographer, much in the way of 'Pop' Laval of the Fresno area fame. His photography covered a great deal of the Inland Empire, and on occasion would show up in publications such as Timepoints, the Southern California Traction Review. I have all the copies of which when my father was editor (early 1970's through late 1980's), and if you know of a particular edition (month, year) which might help, let me know and I'll locate it.
As for the footage of the SP on San Bernardino Ave., I also just found a short (7-8 second) clip of the SP rolling east under the I-10 freeway with an SW and six or so cars, ca. 1970. These and other films will be scanned as time and money permit. Thankfully, pop took good care of his slides, movies and negatives.
...Bill Gardner or...Garner?
