Unfortunately the rumor is true. The 700 derailrd on Sunday night in the process of of putting it in the roundhouse following the HE09 outing. It was reerailed and the OPR crew and PRPA volunteers regauged the curve and installed gage rods drilled through the web of the rail to prevent the rail from rolling over (as with conventional gage rods on the base of the rail).

As the 700 was being moved through the curve this evening (Tuesday) the #2 driver again derailed due to, what we believe, is a secr\tion of curvature greater than the 18 degrees the engine can negotiate.

Tomorrow we will again rerail the 700 and stringline measure the curvature and if found to be in excess of 18 degrees will dig out the ballast on the inside of the curve and adjust the curvature. We set gauge @ 57"...may have to open it up a bit more.
