I Retrned to Cajon Pass Today After 15 Years

I had a few hours and wanted to check it out. I had not been there since before 9/11. There are still lots of unimproved roads in the San Bernardino National Forest shown on its map:

(Click on an area for an enlargement). And on Google Maps too. I searched on "Devore, CA" and worked my way up the Canyon.

So my questions are:

Are these roads open at least to pickup trucks?
Where would a railfan with camera be hassled?
Where are your favorite spots to shoot pictures?
