The Millbrae depot was the spot my grandfather took me often for my first railfanning experiences in the late 80s/early 90s. Wish he had taken pictures, but sometimes memories are better I guess. Saw my first freight train there mid morning in the rain in the late 1980s. Probably was the Mission Bay turn.
The overpass was constructed in the 1994-1996 range. I remember picking blackberries over on the old sidings by Rollins Road as the evening rush would roll through on summer nights. There used to be boxcars spotted back there, though I don't know what the industries were. And the old house across from the depot was clearly abandoned by the mid 90s, as peering into it you could see a mess of a place. I always wondered who lived in that house; obviously some type of SP employee.
