I recall reading an article in the mid-1970s about that trackside house. A family did live there. It said that the wife's brother refused to stay there during visits because of the train noise.

I recall seeing an older woman there once. They had a small dog that gotten outside. I was watching trains there one morning in about 1977 as a young kid. The dog got caught between one of the rails and the side of the platform when train 133 (the 7:17am local that stopped everywhere except Millbrae) blasted through. He managed to jump out to safety as the engine passed. I knocked on the door of the house and informed the older lady that her dog had almost gotten killed.

I've been long gone out of Millbrae, but notice occasional changes if I drop by there when visiting the Bay Area. The latest is that it looks like they tore down the old bowling alley and build condos. They also built apartments on that part of the Mills High School field closest to El Camino and the tracks that was lined with Eucalyptus trees.
